A selected poem of Liz Walek

Missed my blog a while ago

First I liked to say hello.

Second I’ve been watching a really great show

It’s called Robin Hood (BBC)

And it’s really really good

You should watch it I wish you would

Third I realize I haven’t written a story

Maybe it will be about a kid named corey

And all about his rainbow glory

Fourth I like to say

That this has been Liz in a café

Eating off a golden cheese tray.

Phrank: Bloodthirsty pirate or Calculating Ninja?

The latest round of comments has left me looking like a vindictive, bloodthirsty maniac out to get my little sister. I realize she's only a young kid, but we've always made her rise to our level in the past, even if it'd give her a blister. Elizabeth has always gotten stuck playing games and practically everything else at an age level closer to myself and Anne than the young age she actually is. So excuse me if I expect more from her, we always have, that's just how we treat our little sis. To give Elizabeth credit, she always rises to the occasion, which shows how smart and quick to adapt she can be. I do apologize if I seem bloodthirsty and pushing too hard, I suppose I'm just acting like me.

Alright, enough about that. Here's the fundamental question, Pirates vs. Ninjas? Which would win? The answer to this question can be a fun discussion or it can be one of the greatest insight into the human mind. The most obvious symbolic level of pirates vs. ninjas can be thought of as extrovert vs. introvert. That, are you outgoing or more shy and quiet? Which side you pick reflects which of these two categories you relate to, a loud boisterous pirate or the silent and stealthy ninja? This is merely the tip of the iceberg. Chaos vs. Order? Vanilla vs. Chocolate? Brute force vs. strategy? Group mentality vs. the individual? Socialism vs. Feudalism? Xbox vs. Playstation? West vs. East? BC vs. HC? Protestants vs. Catholics? The comparisons are endless, and each one reveals something about the individual. So where do you stand, pirate or ninja? I've always seen myself as a ninja, personally, though I am known to go pirating from time to time, like this past week.

I'm BACK!!

I know you've all missed me terribly, but don't worry- I've returned!

A few things to discuss:
Greg: As the one who initiated the short story challenge, you might have wanted to kick it off by posting yours. But that's nitpicking. I look forward to your story. And no commenting more than once this time!

Bill: You are awesome.

Frank: Liz can be facetious. No need to be bloodthirsty about her missed post.

Liz: I think an entire post in rhyme ought to do the trick. Because you definitely need to incur some sort of penalty.

That about does it for now. I'll post my short story next week, when I've had more time to think about it.

Love and scurvy,
~Anne

Bill and Chapter 1.5

When I last left off Tracy was contemplating the meaning of life or something like that and ninjas came to this fine land in a time called "payback". And there was something about spearing chipmunks or some thing, and cooked meat.

Chapter 1.5 "Cooked Meat"

Tracy smelled cooked meat for the first time from the ninjas that had come and set up their base to repopulate the land in their image and as a way station for other conquest not known. The ninja set up camps though out the land with taking precautions that they would not be surprised by humans but forgot about unicorns.

Tracy was drawn to this smell like a addict to drugs or whatever but knew enough that the carnage that had happened to this once peaceful land to get that smell and was wise in knowing that it (remember from before we still are not sure if it's a girl or boy) had to be elusive in getting some of this meat. Tracy came around one base that was cooking such goodness and decided to play it safe by just walking around looking like it was eating grass with it's head down, concealing the horn. This worked fine and at once Tracy was in and in position to strike, but not like before, this was for cooked meat! It reared up on it's hind legs and gave some sort of sound, i'm not sure since i've never seen a unicorn and won't assume that they make a particular sound, in fact they may be mute. It reared up and dashed out, spearing a hunk of meat and maybe ninja with it, but who's counting and tried to dash off towards the forest...

To be continued in chapter 1.5.1 "The Escape"

ARGGG!!!

So I'm having a mixed bag of a day. I've just come to the realization that I've got only 2 weeks left classes, and I have so much still to teach. Arrg... The most frustrating of all my classes is a 3ds Max class where everything seems to have gone wrong since I started the lab converting models from Max to the Source engine (HL2). I'll be teaching the class again this summer. Hopefully with some rest and a renewed vigor things will be better.

Oh for crying out loud, the Bruins got themselves a big goose egg of a score tonight and got pushed out of the NHL Playoffs by the Canadians. This coming after being down 3-1 in the series. Next on the board is the Celtics. They'll most likely end up being another tease real soon. And that will leave the Sox to break our hearts this fall... So I'm calling it now... Big Oh and Four in the playoffs in 08. We'll look back and see great expectations from each team only to find great failure. Oh well, Dice-K is still perfect. I have him on my fantasy baseball team.
