DM Worries

So it's very encouraging to see the response about posting on the blog again. It's great to hear from almost everyone. Let's try and be really responsive by commenting on each other's posts, I know how nice feedback can be when writing online.

So my newest distraction, since I've burnt out of playing Fallout 3, has been prepping for running a 4th ed game in March. It's been a long time since I've been a Dungeon Master, and this is my first time with 4th ed. D&D. I'm very nervous, since I haven't run a game in a long time. I'm confident in my setting and the encounters I have planned out, I'm just worried about executing my desgin and making the game fun. I am excited about the group I'm playing with, it should be a lot of fun regardless of how much plot we get through.

Does anyone mind if I post what happens in the game on the blog? I was going to do an e-mail recap, but I think a blog is a better format. Leave me your thoughts in the comments.

Also, if you know of any jobs you think I'd be good at, leave me a link!

Jessie: Life with Greg, the cats, and a one eared Furby..

Hi everyone!
Life's been ok. It's good at home... work is another story. Let's basically say they made me change units for a reason that is totally stupid.( I got labeled a "bully") Although the new unit is hard, I miss my old residents.

So I went over to my parent's yesterday and found my old Furby, with a broken ear. I have a baby one somewhere, but this one is the red one. The one whom was rumored to learn bad words.... I just never taught it any. So I brought it home. Adora and Artemis can't get over it. I just put it on top of Adora and it said "I love you.... cocoa!" Kind of funny.

I don't know what else to write about... I did make a good soup yesterday, leek, acorn squash and potato with horseradish. It was pretty good and quick. I have this upcoming weekend off, so Greg, my mom and I might make a trip to Salmon Falls in Dover and then the Stone Wall Kitchen Warehouse in Rodchester. Since I'll be driving, we'll get lost, and it will be fun. Don't try to get me lost in Manchester, Weare, New Boston, Henniker, Concord, New London, or any surrounding towns..... I only get lost in Rodchester and end up in Ossipee ( up north).

So I guess that's it for this week... oh and I miss you all!!!!!

Con season starts

I really like the ability to log in as my self. And it's nice to keep track of the sibs again. So I will do my darndest to contribute on a semi-regular basis.

I spent this past weekend at Templecon. It was "meh". The con itself seems to be transitioning from a small con to a big one, and is doing it very poorly. I was not impressed at all. But I did pick up some shinies, including a birthday present for Liz. I hope she likes it.

I would like to go to Boskone in a couple weeks- it's another convention, but this one is full of awesome. But I'm not sure if I can manage it.

Wish I was sleeping...

It's nice to see the blog come back together. It's been a while hasn't it? I'll try to post at least once a week but it'll always be random. I was never good at the "only post on friday' gig. As for the whole 'names" things...I personally don't like it. I feel like it's something I'd have a hard time keeping up with. But to be honest, when I post it'll mostly be about what's new with me so I guess it doesn't really matter. That being said I won't be using a codename. Just call me 'Liz' or 'Elizabeth'.

At this very moment I'm cramming for a AP History test and a AP English presentation tomorrow. It's 2am. I would love to just go to sleep....

I'm currently reading "Winnie the Pooh" (reading it with Frank. Frank: we seriously need to start reading again! Those damn suspicious bee's distracted us.) "Eat, Pray, Love", "Wuthering Heights" (for AP English), and "Alice-I Have been". YEAHH READING. I'm following this other blog where the author posts quotes from every book she reads. To remember them and such. Perhaps I will do the same on this blog.

I'm really sleepy...
g'night. I look forward to (Hopefully) a post from Anne, Bill, and Jess later this week!

Greg's Back In the Saddle Again

So it's been about 18 months since I last wrote here. When the blog was running back then, I was posting once a week on Monday. My plan to restart with that. This is my goal, and independent of who else is posting. Since so long has passed, here's a recap of the big stories in my life since then. I Married Jess and I am happy with her. I'm still working at NHTI, but pushed through a set of changes to the curriculum that won't fully roll till next year. I worked hard on all of that I burnt out. And now I'm working back to refocus my life. Sound worse than it really is. My perception is harsher than reality.

Looking back at a few of my last posts. I posted about writing. Well that didn't happen in 2010, but there's always now to work on that. I posted Winter Reggae by the Red Elvises. It's one of the songs in my playlist right. With Pearl Jam, John Cena, Katie Perry, Alien Ant Farm and Ke$ha. One topic that I am writing considerable amount on lately is wrestling. Last week I did a 2.5 page essay on one of the major sources of news... and why we need to reconsider the information from that source. Two side projects deal in wrestling humor, one called "Ring Bells" shows up on my Facebook page often. The other is not Emmy-Safe. If you know what this project is, please do not post content or links to it here. I shudder, cause soon Liz is going to turn 18. I guess it's time to retire the "Liz-safe" phrase now. Another project that is slowly starting up, is a column about the TV show "The Cape". I'm loving this show. It's got a old school Green Hornet meets Batman Begins meets parts of Robocop, to name a few influences on the show. I'm looking to get the first column up on that project later this week. I've still got some background work to do before the first column goes up. So I've got stuff in the pipe to do that keeps me busy and out of trouble.

So to return back to form before, I'm going to post a song off of youtube. Anyways, It's been snowing like heck. I'm posting something that's cheery and warm and about a tropical place. So this week is Edguy and the Song is Trinidad.

Hello

Hey guys. Just wanted to say hi. This is Lisa but Frank got a fake name so I wanted one, so I will be "Gemma". It's a name I really like but will never used on any of my future daughters cause it kinda sounds the same as Emmeline, and that's just silly.
Anyways, it's me. :)

Frank: Welcome Back? Some Changes

So I learned that we can have multiple authors on the blog, which means we can log in with our own e-mails and post freely. I've invited all of you back, hopefully you'll consider posting again. Even if you don't, maybe you'll check in from time to time to read. I don't see most of you that often anymore and it seems like a long time since we've all been together. I hope we can find this blog as a place to share and reconnect, or maybe just talk about sports and Doctor Who. I think we should just try and be as supportive of whatever someone else posts, regardless of what it is. I know I was the biggest troublemaker on the blog when it came to getting in fights, but I'd like to put that behind me.
