Liz: In Maine right now!!!

I'm writing my post now (tuesday night) because I wont be here friday. I'll be up in Maine in the middle of no where sledding. I'm so excited! At the moment I'm packing for the trip because I leave tomorrow (wednesday). I have a load of clothes to throw in the washer and some extra little things to pack but I'm almost ready. I have to make this post about numbers right? Hmm.
O.k lets try this.

It's February 17 2009 (while I'm writing this)
Add two to the first, and write down what you get.
Minus three from the second and write down what you get.
Minus 16 from the third and write down what you get?
What did you get????
Ha ha, I feel like the chesire cat ;]

Have a nice week everyone!!
-Liz

I can get this post to say it was friday, but not to just post it on friday. So sorry about that, I'll try working on it. If someone here does now how to do would they for me? I'm pretty confused....

Frank: Short Stories

So I received word from the publisher I sent my manuscript to, they didn't want to publish it. So I'm gonna revise it some more, make some major changes to it. On the advice of Anne, however, I checked out the NESFA site, which is the New England Science Fiction Association. After poking around on their site for a new publisher, I found an article about getting published in science fiction. I also found a magazine that accepts short stories in science fiction based on merit. So I'm gonna write a couple of short stories and see if I can get those published. I go on Spring Break starting a week from tomorrow.

Anne: When did it become Thursday?

I swear, I've been waiting for Wednesday all week, then it disappears. I don't know what happened!

So this post is late, but I am posting.

Numbers was the topic, because at the time I was thinking about them. You see, numbers don't really exist, they are just abstract ideas that happen to be incredibly useful. So everyone more or less agrees that the symbols we use will represent these universal ideas. But really, the idea of numbers breaks down to a couple of categories. The most basic being the idea of none, and the idea of not-none (at least 1). It then gets more complex by adding the idea of "more than one" (2 and greater). But two is a pretty easy idea to follow, as is three. Which is why we have plenty of words for 2 of a kind, and some for three, but fewer for 4 of a kind of item. And so one. Multiple births are an exception, because you just take the Greek or Latin root for the number and add "-tuplets". Also, in binary, the number we think of as "2" is represented by "1" and the number we think of as "1" is represented by "0". So there.

On a less complicated note, I spent over 6 hours in the hospital today. Uncle Pro (my mom's uncle, for those who don't know) had to have a procedure. Fortunately, it went VERY well, he got all fixed up and looked so much better afterward.

Have a great week all!

Two comments, I spilled out my heart for you guys and I got two pity comments. I don't want your pity, I want your comments on how awesome my post was. So I'm allowing re-commenting for those that did comment and asking that those that didn't read it. Now I could say this tidbit satisfies the number requirement in my post but why stop there. For starters if you don't comment on my post you will suck for three reasons, and they are below.

1) You suck so bad
2) You suck so hard
3) You suck so much

Other than that it's tax season so get your number right and do your taxes, i'm going to hand my over to my guy and he'll get them done for me. Don't use H&R Block. They suck, they mess up more than they get right.

Never tell me the odds...

Last week, I was down with the flu. This week I'm in that zone where I'm getting better, but not kicking it all out so I'm getting a bit worse and then a bit better. Yesterday I was sick, and slept most of today. Thankfuly Yesterday was a holliday.

So with this in mind, I'm getting my post in... After Bill and Liz...
so this makes for a weird week.

I'm not sure where the concept of posting about numbers came up... but here's a few that I like right now

3: the number of teams at my game jam and senior project teams
13: The lucky number
42: the answer.
47: the answer with inflation taken into account.
69: the number Bill and Ted are thinking.
99: bottles of beer on the wall
May 22, 2010: My Wedding Day
3,720 to 1: Possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field
