A very short post

There has been some pretty amazing games over the years. But there is one game that dominates! Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. That game is art. Think back to yoshi island, the cloud city, bowser's tower, and the flesh-eating cake. I would do anything to get a SNES and that game and play again.
I would just like to say Happy Birthday to Greg and that I can't wait to see you on saturday.

Phrank: Best game evar!

If I had to explain my favorite game, as the challenge states, it would be a game that encourages multiple playthroughs, choices/endings based on skills and morality, so you can use skills A or B and be evil or good for both of them. This game should offer depth and breadth, providing characters who are deep and possess stories and feelings, while providing a whole world to explore. This game would ideally combine a magic fantasy setting that I enjoy, with some of the more futuristic elements of science fiction. Clearly, my favorite game is Arcanum. The real clincher in that game for me is the fantasy philosophy, it's incredible and like nothing I've seen in any video game.
There are lots of good games, but here is my list of games I'm surprised no one has mentioned so far, and the three games my older siblings picked that are not mention worthy, in my humble opinion.
No one picked KoL, which is a great game, for humor and for the fact it's free. Four of us play it, and two of us play it almost daily, I figure it deserves a mention.
The closest thing to an RPG they picked is a tie between Kingdom hearts and Guild wars! Neither of which are really RPGs, since kingdom hearts is an action-rpg and Guild wars is a mmorpger, so they don't really count. Bill's not much of an rpg gamer, so that's understandable. But Anne and Greg, pseudo rpgs are the closest you get to an rpg in your top five! I could understand if an rpg wasn't your favorite game ever, but not one real rpg out of five games! I was surprised by that.
As for games I didn't think should make the list, Guild wars and Phoenix wright are the two clear picks for me. Perhaps Guild wars is more fun when you're playing with friends, but that doesn't make grinding through zones any less tedious or the insanely complex rune/insignia system any more forgiving. I've never played Phoenix wright, but it has never looked remotely interesting to me, and I'm really surprised it beat out several other good games for a place in the top 5.
Enough negativity, a lot of classic awesome games made the list, I remember the donald duck game, that was a blast. I remember commander keen, simcity, where in the world is carmen sandiego, all wonderful classics. All in all, I say we like a wide variety of games and we all have pretty good taste. Except for Bill, who only likes total war. I keep meaning to give those games another chance. That's all I got, great challenge Elizabeth, can't wait to see what games you pick!

Quick plug! My friend Pete is starting a blog about being a med student, it's pretty cool, check it out here!

Holy Crap

So, I'm not dead in a ditch or on the side of a milk bottle. More on that later- there's a challenge to do!

Top 5:
Kingdom Hearts. So pretty, so much fun!
Commander Keen. I remember listening to No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom and playing this for hours.
Dynasty Warriors. I am Anne "The Killing Machine", Scourge of Peons.
Phoenix Wright. Objection!
There was this game, I think it might have been on the Apple 2. Something to do with Donald Duck and a toy store? It was way fun.

And that's all for now.

Games, Games and more Games

So I almost went to bed with out posting, how rude of me. But i'm here now and i'll just be fast.

1) Rome: Total War............ the same one that Greg lost on me.
2) Medieval2: Total War
3) Civ. 4
4) Simcity
5) Soon to be my number 1, Empire: Total War

I know that this isn't a full five sentences but I think that a top 5 covers it.

Games and Grash

My favorite video game? Darn liz... that is a hard one.
I think I'll have to pick you up on your list of 5:
And in no particular order:

1: Counter-Strike
This was my favorite online shooter till...
2. Team Fortress 2
I play the spy. I am backstab master...
3: Where in .... is Carmen Sandeiago
This is an old school pick... I've played several version of Time, the USA, the World
4: SimCity
Another old school pick... I think Dad has the record in the original game for the biggest city.
5: Guildwars
I promise, I'll have time to play soon!

----

I've got the nickname "Grash". I took on the name during my freshman year ('97) in College as I needed a name to sign up for on-line accounts. Grash before that was just a character. A Wrestler! One of my friends started up an email wrestling fed. And entered in a brawler type with that name. This had been the 3rd iteration of the fed. The original fed was played using the Champions of the Galaxy Game. The heart of the game are in the character cards which have incredible art work from artists who would later go on to great careers professionally for the big 2 (DC and Marvel).

And Something Really Cool happened this weekend:
This weekend I went out to a game convention for the game. It was great. I had fun. I met Nitro G! The newest set has Nitro in it. Over the weekend, I won a opportunity to make an offical card... It's going to be Grash. Steel Belt and all! How cool is that?

Challenge for the Week of 7/14/08

This Challenge was issued by Liz:

The Challenge is you have to explain what your favorite videogame is. If that's too hard then make a top 5 of your favorite videogames.
