Frank: Family Book Club!

So Liz and I were reading Winnie the Pooh this past month. We sort of started an pseudo book club, and we thought it would be fun to invite the rest of the family in on it. I'll have the details about March's book at the end, for now I would like to discuss A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh and House at Pooh Corner.

I finished the book today, and I literally could not stop crying. The ending isn't that sad, I would compare it to Toy Story 3's ending for a reference point. Still, I think there was just something, different about this book. It was truly different from anything I've ever read. It had a simplicity that disguised its clever and witty prose. It was an honest book, which is something I don't think I've ever encountered before. The characters were true to themselves and I suppose the stories were like reliving childhood playtime. I have been struggling to think of a book I have read that was more enjoyable, more meaningful and provoked an equally strong emotion from me and I can't think of any. For now, I would have to consider this my favorite book ever. It truly was fantastic and I highly recommend it to everyone. Don't let the Disney Pooh fool you, the real Pooh is a endearing, lovable, silly old bear and the real stories are wonderful to read. There are some fantastic lines that I can't recall at the moment, but for the next book, I'll be sure to write down my favorites and share them with you.

March's book of the month is going to be: Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. We're trying to do books off the BBC Book List Challenge on Facebook. Most of us have it as an app already. You're all welcome to join me, Liz and Dad in reading it. More details on the book club coming and I'll post the specific Sherlock Holmes titles before March.

Jessie: Friday Fun!

Hi guys!
I have the day off! I'm supposed to meet up with my mom later to go shopping. I've got a lot going on...
Valentine's day was good, after work I went to weight watchers then came home to Greg, who got me a HUGE chocolate chip cookie and 2 dozen roses. (Though the cookie was shared, because there was no way I could eat it myself).
Work is going well, next week my schedule is a little crazy
Monday-off
Tuesday- 8-4
Wednesday-off
Thursday 8-4
Friday- 3-11
Sat & Sun- off
Pretty good, considering I get paid for Monday!

I have a video I'd like you to check out....it's about NH, has some jokes about Mass ( sorry) and it's by the group that does the Granite State of Mind video ( we played the song at the wedding)
It has a few famous NH People in it. They are all listed at the end. Some you guys might not know ( Fritz Wheatherbee, Gov. John Lynch, Juston McKinney) but there are some you might (Sarah Silverman, Mike O'Malley, etc) Greg doesn't like the video, but I think it has to grow on him, I'm all about it....NH pride, lol
That's it for this week, I hope you guys all have a great weekend!

New Layout!

I changed the layout! The green wasn't exactly easy on the eyes and I thought a new layout would reflect our new start to the blog! If you don't like it...well I guess you could change it too. But I like this one :) I'll be posting a real post in the next couple of days!
Love, Liz

Another new name!

Ok guys, so I changed my name again, to CaeFaye. I have a reason though. My friend and I have started a writing blog and that is one of my characters.
So life is going. I'm chugging along. Frank and I are trying to get healthy, and I think we're doing ok. We could be doing better, but we are both huge stress eaters, and we are both very stressed.
Anyways, my new favorite show is Cupcake Wars. There are four different bakes in the first round, which is entirely taste based. Three people move to the second round, which is 50/50 taste and appearance. Then two people are in the final round, which involves 1,000 cupcakes on a custom made cupcake stand that goes with the overall theme of that episode. They go to an event.
I wondered last night, after watching three episodes, what do they do with the 1,000 cupcakes of the losing competitor? Do they throw them away? That would be a terrible loss to the cupcake community.
