Hi guys. I'll be honest and tell you I'm writing this on Sunday, but dating it to Saturday. Maybe once spring comes, I'll get it all together. Every week, I get a cold or the flu or something. Gregory seems to have some super-immunity genes or something. He hardly gets sick. So this week it was the flu. I'm almost up to par today.
I got my wedding dress. It was going out of style, so I bought it right on the spot. It's a size smaller than I normally take, but fits very well. There's pictures on facebook (don't worry, Greg can't see any of them because he's blocked!!)
I did make a cake yesterday. It is a rum cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. I got an electric hand mixer, and it makes things sooo much easier.
So that's it for now. I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Do you like Pancakes?
So today I spent the entire day at Coyle Cassidy high school on a band field trip. We're doing a combined concert with them on Sunday (I have details if people want to come). We're playing Carmina Burana, Les Miserables, and some march. With the chorus singing for Les Mes and Carmina. It's should be really fun :]
Obama! I realize after seriously thinking about this topic that I don't have a very strong opinion. Mainly due to my lack of common basic political knowledge. However. I still feel as though Obama should help the environment but at this time wait till the economy is more stable. His timing is crucial.
Who wants the next topic? I figure they can make an post posting the topic sometime today. (because jess will talk about it tomorrow.) So, just pick a topic anything! Maybe not politics this time though. A different genre. We shouldn't have back to back topic genre's. Does that make sense? I'm not saying politics ever again just twice. It doesn't have a rule more of just a request to get different stuff around the table. :p

Frank: Skeptical of a Green Obama

I'm not a fan of Obama's energy plan. Besides my own personal doubts about global warming, there's a crucial aspect of his energy plan with which I've always had an issue. He won't invest in nuclear power. He'll invest in wind and solar power, which is nice, but our energy consumption already dwarfs what we can produce from those resources. His plan wants to make 10% of our energy consumption come from renewable resources by 2012. Anything projected for beyond 2016 is pixie dust, Obama can't legally run the country after then so his policies have no guarantee of being enforced. Even at its best, only a quarter of our energy consumption would be from renewable resources. Why not invest in a stronger energy source with more potential for growth? Because Obama is opposed to nuclear energy. Conveniently, it's not the most popular thing to support these days. So that's my take on Obama's energy plan, I think it's misguided at best. So, I guess technically I oppose his energy plan because the economy is more important.

I hate thinking up titles
Ok, first up- Obama's Energy plan. I think that he's talked to some very smart and enthusiastic people about green technology. And I also think that he can help make some great strides. But I have to wonder whether he's taken into account things like our current grids and the sheer amount of effort we'll need to completely convert. And there the issue of whether or not green technology can save our economy. I don't think it can, by itself, but it seems like a better idea than million dollar bailouts to keep the fat cats in Wall Street happy.
2nd: Work is good! I'm becoming increasingly more comfortable with my job and the people I work with. I like going to work, even though it can get crazy.
3rd- I have no idea. But I felt like numbering these things. Take care kids!

Obamma's Energy Plan
I call it his energy plan more than his environmental plan because that is what is on the Whitehouse website. Anyway it come down to this he is doing a lot, some might even say some of the things are not reasonable. But you have to start somewhere! Aim high, just don't throw money into it, plan. I think that the number of cars he wants converted over to hybrids is a little high unless the price comes down on them. But it does do two things, saves the environment and creates jobs if the cars are made in the US. His infrastructure plans are a little strange, they only want to us US steel and US made goods, while this sounds nice the EAU said that will more or less start a trade war with them if they can't even bid on jobs. Now that being said i'm for Free Trade. Free Trade along with Fair Trade. I'm against tariffs dropped at the ports but crop back up in a province or territory it's just not fair. We don't do it in the US don't do it in other countries. Well more snow I'm off to shovel after putting in some laundry.

Can you DIG it?
I'm still somewhat sleep deprived from the Jam. Some time during the jam Anne got on the chat room with our web feed and starts talking smack to me and my students. Anne, you're not exactly well liked after your Mt. Dew comment. Somewhere along the line I tell her I'm thinking of jumping in chaos and make a game myself. I honestly don't remember what she said, but it was to the effect of "Whatever".
So with 15 hours left to go, I finally started. I created an "ART" game. These games focus on creating an experience whose meaning is whatever you take from it.
You Have To Dig A Grave
You might like the games my students made as well
Shadow and Zen Attack
One game I've taken a liking too is Monster <3 Kitty
If you know the film above,
you might enjoy this mashup

Superbowl Sunday
I like watching the Superbowl for the commercials and the halftime show. I enjoyed the halftime show tonight , even though I'm not a huge Springsteen fan. And I had mint cookie ice cream. Yum.
So this afternoon on my lunch break I spontaneously decided to go meet with Frank for his lunch break and we could have lunch together. I got to Babies R Us and discovered he was not there. So I went to Panera, where he always has lunch, and he wasn't there either. Turns out he'd gone to McDonald's for lunch. So I went back to Bellingham and stopped at our Panera and had chicken soup. I kinda felt a little foolish.
As Frank said, wedding plans are going along. We're gonna have chicken parm at the reception, as well as caesar salad (my favorite!!) and meatballs and ziti and sausage with peppers and onions. Oh and bread. And coffee, and of course cake. I tried my dress on Tuesday, and it fit nicely : ) it was exciting.
I try not to get involved in politics, at all, because they all make me angry. Obama specifically has always rubbed me the wrong way, and I'm not exactly sure why. John Kerry always did too. One thing I don't like about Obama is that he's so charasmatic, and he knows it, and he uses it to his advantage. Which is ok I guess, to a point. But if he were to decide something that he thought was a really good idea, he could get enough people to agree with him to make it happen, even if it wasn't a good idea. Anyway, I can't get into politics. It will result in long rants.
