Marching Band!

Mellophone: Marching French Horn

It's finally Friday!! I have good news family: Liz has successfully survived her marching pre-camp week. It was intense, grueling, and there were tears. I barely made it. Just kidding. This is my 3rd year doing MB (I started in 8th grade) and I must say it is much easier after you've been doing it a while. The entire thing has come much more naturally to me. In today’s drill down (which is like Simon says MB style, when you mess up you have to leave the block we're marching in. Last person sanding wins) I was in the top five. Ok so maybe pretty much half the band was out because our teacher kinda threw in a trick command. But still. I didn't fall for it. I was bringing my A game. Also we were doing an exercise where we pretty marched a star design. It was oblique exercises (which are moves when you march in a diagonal.) And let me tell you. Dressing (which is like making sure your still in line with everybody.) Its really hard when doing obliques. Anyways at the end the exercise my band teacher told the line I was in that we were PEREFCT! so overall I had a great pre-camp. It was much more fun being used to the whole system and the music is a lot of fun also. Our songs are:

Big Fat bottom Girls-opener

Crazy little thing called love

Bohemian Rhapsody

Pretty flippin’ sweet. But the real work starts next week. We’ll be doing our drill and working on the music a lot more. We’ll also be using our instruments now. Super pumped about that one. Also because of the positive response to my questions I’ll be doing them again. Which are still totally optional.

Greg- What is your favorite tv show at the moment.

Bill- Who is your favorite patriot player. Why?

Anne- Favorite band?

Frank- What is the best part about going back to school.

Matt if you’re reading this: Getting some goods ideas from Italy? Bring it. Beating you will be easy even with my ‘easybake oven’ :D

Phrank: Cheesecake is delicious, again.

Not much to say siblings, it's been kind of a dull week. Lisa and I are working towards finish booking everything for our wedding. Congrats again to Greg for his good news. I met with a photographer on Wednesday, which is more in Lisa's and I's pricing range.

By the by, the pygmy hippo was featured in Lewis Black's Root of All Evil. So that makes my last post that much more awesome. In answer to Elizabeth's question, Beet is one of my favorite characters, but I would say my absolute favorite is Kissu. Yeah, I know he can be a spineless coward, but when he's on his game, he does the most amazing things.

Questions Wednesday

Wasn't Bill supposed to post a challenge?

Anyways, to answer Liz's question: "What is my favorite room in my apartment?"

That's kinda tough. (NOT listed by priority!) I love my office, but that's because my computer is there. And home is where my hard drive is. Also, there's nothing better than flopping on my big comfy bed and chilling out with some TV. Don't forget the kitchen- it has food! And I <3 food.

But I think have to go with my front porch. Sure it might fall off at any moment (or at least looks that way), but it's a great place to think and listen to music and read and have internal monologues. It is, in fact, GREAT for the monologues.

So I hope that answered your question! Everyone should feel free to leave more! I like answering them.

Once again after many attempts, I finally got signed into the blog so I can post. First of all let's congratulate Greg on his recent news. If anyone missed it read his post from yesterday. I also have news! I moved Anne's "Troublemaker" beer into the secondary fermenter so it will stay there for about two, and then get bottled. Liz asked me what beer will I be making next, I told her it will be a dark beer with chocolate and some lactose so it has a creamy head. Unless I can think of a good fall beer, this is more like a winter one. We'll see how that goes, should be a good either way.

She Said YES!

Liz asked me "What is the best part about making maps for video games?"

For me it's the point where I bring the map to life and add monsters and script events that will take place. That's what I love doing.

I proposed.
She said yes.
I am so happy.

Don't worry Frank, we're not racing you.
We're looking at 2010.
