Hey Hey You You

So after Bills post it seems like everyones been like " ohh yea I just love newton and his laws". Which means Bills post must have been very influential. But y'know what? I don't like newtons laws. Because I haven't even had physics yet so this entire post is practically useless! What do I have to say on his second law? I HAVE NO FREAKIN' IDEA! reality check family: I'm fifteen years old I don't care about some guys confusing laws. I don't see how we need to even have them. Bill talks about how they're important in everyday life, but I don't understand them in the slightest and I've been doing just fine without them. And I do not want to hear you guys preaching to me about how I should understand them so I can "rise up to your level". But. I think Bill has made a point. If I can make a 28 year old (I think thats right) write a ridiculous poem then he can make a 15 year old write about something she's never studied. So we're even now. So I'm all for the rules and I vote for Anne's challenge. I like writing about my favorite books. Today I went to the purgatory Chasm which when you get past the negative conintation of the name the place is really great. When I say great I mean amazing! SO pretty and lots of fun. I went with my friends and mom. I loved climbing through the rocks, and we did the entire thing twice. One time going forward another time going backwards. Definatly cool. The only bad part was the camera was conking out and I didn't get many pictures. Anyways Doctor Who is on tonight and I might be going to an air show tomorrow with dad. Gotta ask him.

Phrank: I am Newton!

My feelings on Newton's second law is best explained in a quote from the recent movie, 300. "Give them nothing! BUT! TAKE! FROM THEM! EVERYTHING!"

I got nothing to post about today, except I'm still waiting on the job thing. I've got a few more leads to follow up. I made a new Guild Wars character. I'm gonna go with a warrior monk and just tank my way through the game. Well, that's all I got for this week, cya in a week.

Inertia came first!

Newton's 2nd law is incredibly useful. When I was taking physics, I knew I could almost always go back to good old F=ma if I was stuck. And undoubtedly it is an incredibly wonderful science-math thingy. But I'm an English major now, so all I feel for this law is a nostalgic gratitude. And now there are so many other kinds of fun science things, like quantum mechanics and string theory. So I will sum up with this:

Obey gravity, it's the law!

Good Times

Boring! How can Newton’s Second Law of Motion be boring! It is by far one of the world’s greatest achievements. I am placing that in high regard, along with the wedge, screw, wheel and fire just to name a few other great achievements. It is in this complex worded but yet simple equation that so many other formulas are derived from.

F=MA

Let’s say I was to pick up a baseball and throw it at your head. You would take the mass of the ball and the speed at which I throw it, and then after you wake up from the concussion, we can determine the force of the ball. Now just for fun lets make my throw on an arc, we know have to play with the forces being acted on the ball to determine the net acceleration, it’s a two part problem and from one question! How awesome is that?

Others will say something weak and how it does not affect them in the slightest, but it affects everyday life, it is the equivalent of saying that breathing is not important. I just want your feeling on the matter, and to hear such comments as boring or unimportant is a jab at science. Science makes your life better because it’s there to help you and make you do more with less. If this task or challenge is unimportant to you then don’t drive or lift anything, don’t push or pull, don’t live life to its fullest. These are my “feelings” on this matter, agree or disagree, just remember that if you’re not with me, you’re a dervish.

These rules of motion are much like the rules of the blog. They are needed to stop all chaos from breaking loose. The second rule being the most important of them, but it is not to make the others unimportant, read up on them and study them. Know them by heart and memory. I am thinking that the next challenge that I propose will be to describe in five sentences or more, Bernoulli's Theorem. What do you all think? Everyone wants to write and be smart by using correct grammar, but what is the point if you can not explain simple theories while still using correct grammar? You want me to get better at writing, I want others to get better at Physics, understand that it is not how much you can write or how you write, but what you write. If I want to sound smart I’d say something like this, “Ego sum rex Romanus et super grammaticam” ("I am king of the Romans and above grammar") I don’t go off doing that but I should. So write your post and feelings but remember, it is the law of the universe that govern us, made up by God for us, so use them and know them. I hope I haven’t made any grammatical errors in this post but if there are, Ego sum rex et super grammaticam.

Good evening and good night.

Posting DuH

How do I feel about the Law of Motion? I find it boring. Just reading the description of it is like reading the MIT press books I'm reading now. I'm better off having wikipedia and an on-line dictionary to help me understand what the heck I'm reading it. After looking up that strange word or obscure term I just encountered, I go DuH and realize what the heck they were talking about in the first place.

You know what else makes me go DuH? No, not the holliduh car comerical. Though that was funny. Frank, did you throw a link at me or did I watch that with you? You guys should look that up on the internets. No, it's reading about rules about the blog on the blog. Going forward, can we keep this talk behind the curtain?

Well, that's my 15. I'm out here.
Liz was right, writing this post was boring... Duh!

Challenge for the Week of 6/23/08

The following challenge was issued Bill:

Describe in five sentences or more you feelings on Newton's Second Law of Motion.

For those that might forget such a great law of physics:
The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.
