School, a Challenge, and epic fight....

I had school this week!!!

My first day as a sophomore was on Wednesday. It’s been a very tiring week. The guidance office messed up my schedule so I wasn’t in band. So I had to fight with them to get it back in my schedule. Which didn’t get resolved till today. So on Monday I get to re-live the first day all over again and find my new classes. But due to some teacher changes I have almost no homework. There’s no point in doing my history project this weekend because of the switch. So I’m happy. Well…wait. I bombed the math test for chemistry today, so I admit I’m kind of down about that. Overall though the week wasn’t bad. I have a football game coming up in a few weeks and if my marching band practices go well we’ll have the entire show on the field for the first game. Which has NEVER happened.

Frank was right about the lack of challenges so I’m going to do one. (Bill had a challenge but I can’t participate so I’m making one with me in it as well.) It will be an easy one.

Post a picture when you post. Like how my post usually have some picture. I could be anything. From an original creation from paint, a web comic, a really awesome picture you found on the web, or maybe a picture you took yourself. If you don’t know how to post a picture, well figure it out. Or email me. Anyways this challenge needs to be voted on ( or vetoed) before Monday or it will be assumed that the challenge was accepted.

Phrank: The Secret is...

Elizabeth, the secret to a good chicken parm is in the breading of the chicken. That makes or breaks the deliciousness of the chicken parm. No challenges for a few weeks now, interesting enough.
The Republican National Convention is in full swing this week, after some issues with the impending arrival of Hurricane Gustav on New Orleans. Sara Palin, the Alaskan governor and now Vice-Presidential candidate spoke yesterday and McCain speaks tonight.

Classes have started up for me and it's been a slow beginning. One of the three classes I actually had this week was canceled, so not much to talk about on that front. Alumni weekend and homecoming and the UMASS marching band this weekend, should be a crazy time.

My car broke again today. It looks like it's the battery that died, hopefully it's not the alternator. When this car does finally bite the dust, it will not be missed.

no title

Liz wanted me to describe a really awesome scene, so here I go. The opening scene to Snow Crash is the funniest opening I've ever read. You start be learning about the Deliverator, this tough no-nonsense ninja-esque guy in a car that makes the Batmobile look like a gold cart. Then you find out what the Deliverator does. Should I spoil it for you? It's definitely worth it to read it yourself for the double take factor.

On a related note, I <3 Cosa Nostra.

Yay! Troublemaker is starting to behave. I'm excited to find out how it'll turn out.
I'm really curious about the Republican VP candidate. She certainly changed the election.

My interview was AWESOME. I'll find out if I got the job by the end of next week, when I will be elated or despondent, depending.

Hello radio friends

Hi all,

So yeah I missed last weeks post for no good reason, but no one seemed to care so i'm not all that upset. I bottled "Trouble Maker" tonight and I have to pack. I'm going on a trip to the land of snow called New Jersey. I'm going to train some people on a laser engraver that we use at work. Yeah for me for being picked! The challenges, hows this one.

"To all that can donate blood must." Save a life and be a hero today.

Politics, Pie, and Curry?

Liz asked:
"Give us the short version of what you think about the whole Democratic convention?"
Okay Short Version...
History was made by the past, present, and future of the Democratic party.

As for the Republicans,
The playbook just went out the window with a hurricane hitting New Orleans again.

By the way, What did you guys think of the blueberry pie Jess made?

I can't think of anything else to write about... so I'll share with you my new favorite wrestler. Yes, it's dumb... but you can't help to have a smile on your face after seeing his entrance.

Queen!!!

Today as been an excellant day for me. Stared my day nice and early and went to my last day of band camp. We ran our first two numbers of the show (fat bottom girls and crazy little thing called called love) and cleaned up some of the sets. The drill and the music are both very fun and they leave me exhausted at the end of it. But in a good way. Then we worked on Bohemian Rhapsody. *happiness*

After our fantasic half day of band camp I went to the cookout afterwards. It was pretty fun, I got to know a lot of the newer members better. After the party was over I went and played tennis with my friend abbey her brother and father. I wasn't that good but it was fun. And it turns out we have really good rackets in the garage. So. Watch out. Wimbledon here I come.

what else. what else.....

School this wednesday. That kinda sucks. I'll get to see my friends again though!

I'm wearing my Twilight shirt today. (oh yes. I have one. on the back it says " when you can live forever, what do you live for?" and on the front it has bella, edward and everybody else. )
-Liz
Greg-give us the short version of what you think about the whole democraic convention.
Bill-Wha happened to those challenge ideas you had a few weeks back?
Anne-describe a really awesome scene from either a book or movie.
Frank-The secret technique to Chicken Parm is....?
I'm offcially against Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montanna. I just an 8 year old tell me they were WAY better than Queen. What does she watch everyday? Disney Channel. Does she know who Queen is? No. But still. I want to throw myself off a cliff and put my head in a blender. and ride my bicycle. I don't want to actually kill myself but you get my drift.
-Liz

(are you queen crazy now that you've been playing their songs in MB? um no. I've always loved queen. We are the champions? amazing. btw frank I like your show theme. I want to see it, so tell me when you have the whole show together and a game I can go to.)

Phrank: Amnesia and Cupcakes

I always come up with great things to write about for my post earlier in the week, and by the time it comes to post, I've forgotten them.
In answer to Elizabeth's question, the best part of coming back to school is the freedom to keep my own hours without having to explain it to anybody. If I want to stay up till 5 in the morning every day, I can. If I want to get up at 5 in the morning every day, I can. I think you get the point.
I've always enjoyed my time at Holy Cross, and as excited as I am to graduate, get married and live in my own place, I will miss this campus. It's magical, not in fairy kind of way, but the practical summon weather kind of way. I feel safe here, like the campus is protected somehow.
In other news, the marching band field show is British Invasion themed, and we're doing "Paint it Black"-"Pinball Wizard"-"Can't Buy Me Love Magical Mystery Tour version" Should be an intriguing show to put on.

Here's Yahtzee's update for this week, definitely worth checking out.
