New Challenges in 2009!

So at this point we've all missed at least one day. Yes, you too Frank. So It's time to start 2009 off right... With New Challenges!

Challenge #1: Short Story Challenge
Must make a 700 word count.
Post a story concept\idea next week
Story due the Week of the 12th.


Challenge #2: MIX CD Exchange
1. Gather gather up at least 10 of their songs. More is okay!
2. At most only two songs from each singer\band\group\musician.
3. If a singer had\has a solo career after being in a group, then one form each is okay. Example: Police and Sting, a musician with a orchestra
4. For each Person: Burn a CD of all of the tracks with a track listing. Please Not on the CD Hand written! Covers, Backs, Inserts if you can do it.
5. Before the end of the month, mail them out.
6. Post your track list on the first week of February.

Not much to report on my end. Still waiting to hear about the job, current job still sucks. Mostly, I've just been tired. I feel like I'm at work all the time, and on my day off, I just want to lay in bed until my feet stop hurting.

Sorry, I don't mean to whine. Things will get better, one way or another. Just... pray that they get better sooner rather than later, ok?

Phrank: Wrightfully the worst!

So before I get to kindling the ashes of the game I dislike the most, I want to make something clear. I realize my posts/comments over the last few weeks have irritated some of you, and I'd just like to apologize. Most of what I've said was in jest or well-meant teasing. It's a shame I can't josh you kids around like I used to, but it's certainly not worth fighting over. Whatever happens, I'm glad we did this blog, it's nice to see what all of you post from week to week.

Alright, the game I hate the most....

Suikoden 3, hands down. I've never played a game that had so much potential and then terrifically bombed out after playing it for a couple of hours. The game sold itself on featuring 40+ characters/main people to interact with, a castle building section ,3 unique viewpoints for the game, and basically an all-around awesome J-rpg. It was an uncompromisingly difficult equipment/item system, an unforgiving dueling system, the storylines were confusingly intertwined and a lot of dead time to slog through.
I expect bad games to be bad, like the LotR games or the Eragon game, I knew they had little to offer in terms of content/gameplay. This game offered a lot in terms of potential and then collapsed on itself. I gave up trying to slog through it and have pretty much tried to forget it existed.

You know what I love about the blog? How it brings us closer together as a family.

Or not.

Anyways, the challenge! I think I'll go with Katamari. While I often play repetitive games, this one irritates even me. Toss the annoying music, and I'd rather gouge out my eyeballs with a spoon than play. And to imitate Bill- no explosions, no action! Also, no plot.

I have a webcam! I conned it out of my boyfriend. And by conned, I mean he was determined to get me something, so I went with the cheaper of the two options in front of us. Happy birthday to me!

The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

So.... new challenge rules?
1) You post a challenge, which begins the next Monday.
2) Siblings can veto the challenge in the comments. If you don't comment, it will be assumed you agree to do the challenge.
3) Majority rules. At least 3 siblings have to agree. In other words, 3 siblings HAVE to veto the challenge in the comments to get it tossed out.
4) No more than one challenge a week.

I'm doing this because Bill's right about the mandatory nature of challenges. I know I'm freaking out about his challenge- I don't know how I feel about Newton's 2nd law of motion. Which is why I'm issuing a new challenge, to test the rules and help me forget about Newton. If it is accepted, it will take place the week AFTER the Newton Challenge.

Challenge: Name and briefly discuss a book that has influenced you. I prefer to keep politics out of this (Greg!), but anything else should be ok. It doesn't have to be the full 5 sentences, just the book & author and why you chose it.

Greg needs a punishment for a late post, I believe. I suggest a post, 15 sentence minimum with NO links, hyper or otherwise. And no embedded pictures or videos. Just straight up text.

Bill also missed a post. I would say... 20 sentence minimum, with NO spelling or grammar mistakes. (I messed with his name so he'd notice it.)

There are extenuating circumstances, so these are not mandatory. You're just a rule-breaking filthy communist hippy if you don't do it.

Newton's Laws!!!!

Hi everyone. I have something to get off my chest. I don not like the idea of a challenge being thrown out and no way to rebut or say no to the challenge. Now I hate writing and all of the challenges have been some way, about writing and feelings, nothing cold and hard that is boring. So now I will make those that write, write. I give the challenge to be started next Monday... Describe in five sentences or more you feelings on Newton's Second Law of Motion.
