Hello. How is the family this week? I’m doing pretty well. I’m bird sitting my friend’s parrot for a few days so that is exciting. I also have this super amazing plan that I can’t tell anyone what it is yet. Someday though…
And the other side of things I’ve been concerned about what I’ve been reading lately. My taste in books seems to be not quite it used to be. The last book I bought was Gulliver’s Travels (which makes me think of Animal Farm). And maybe that book is good. But is it a good summer book? The other book I bought is a non-fiction novel about the Ebola virus. Good-job Liz. Pick a book out that has Stephen King saying it’s horrifying right on the back. At least I don’t read all those crappy teen novels anymore. Thank God I’m over that stage in my life. (The magazines are harder to not love though.) The solution to my problem is fairly simple. I could go ask Anne for advice or browse the bookcases downstairs. But I guess because it’s summer I want a flashy book*. Y’know a book that looks really cool on the outside and you feel good reading it regardless of the actual text inside. It’s the summer heat that makes me think this way. So let us break this down.
- Liz has been reading some not-so-great summer reading material
- She is over bad teen novels (but not magazines)
- She wants a flashy book
- She doesn’t want to spend any money
Looking over the bullets it hit me. What’s flashier than a really good looking book? A book you’ve written yourself of course! So I have decided to write a novel. Or a really long short story. Then I’ll make a really cool cover that’s a collage of hippy/emo avatars (see my desktop wallpaper). Brilliant. My only problem now is what to write about. But that is trivial matters, the most important part is I know exactly what the cover will look like. The stuff inside of it will come via epiphany. Of course suggestions are really great too. So..comments?
*A flashy book is (my definition) a book that has really cool cover or and the plot of the story is impressive. A flashy book is also a book that gives you street credits. Having one of those shiny medals on the front helps too.
p.s Who loves my drawing?

First post!
If you want a really flashy book, ask Frank for his copy of Hitch hiker's Guide to the Galaxy with the shiny silver cover.
I will look in my bookcase and see if I have anything flashy for you.
Last, but most important: MY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!!
I'd recommend writing about cheesecake.
Nice picture but why write in 3rd person.
